an abstracted cropped shot taken from a photo of each. Display in a short

different poses doing things with computers and cell phones that have taken the
place of real human interaction. There will be a projection of old stock
footage of humans having real human interaction shown on
the mannequins and a recorded loop of
a phone ringing in the back ground with the
voice of a person speaking about the pain they felt when after
being desperate to make human connection and trying to reach 6 different
family and friends to talk to know one answered their phones and only one sent
a text saying I cant talk now.
12. Unorthodox/ Bohemian: For this I see a series of photos, one of women and
man laying on their backs, naked on a pile of open books in a back isle of a
library, with their heads touching. One with a joint and one reading Anais Nin.
Next, the same couple, this time the man is in a tutu with fishnets and boots
and the women is in a shirt with tie and no pants. They are in a band room with
instruments all around. She is straddling a tuba and he is dancing with a
cello. Last, they are both naked but their entire bodies or painted gold. They
are acting like statues in the middle of a downtown square and posing like the
sculpture of The Kiss by Rodin.
13. Surrender: This can be a video that starts out with a person in fast motion
going through the motions of their typical day, with a stressed look on their
face and with them having to go around, jump over and climb up things to get to
where they need to be. The second part is them having a daydream or flashback
of child hood, or the Buddha meditating and then you see them falling backwards
from where they are and cut to them falling in slow motion into a calm lake.
The video then goes in reverse and they come up out of the water and fall up
into them waltzing with a women dressed like the statue of liberty in a big
open field of wild flowers.

push-ups, a women washing her hair, a women doing yoga, a man poring

choreographed to a rhythm of beating drums. Each action would be deliberate and
pronounced.

speaking of a cherished memory. This will be mixed and edited with photos,
music, and effects to produce a traveling back and forth in time type of feel.

nose, eyes, ears, hands, feet, cleavage, crotch. All of these in a box grid

of a mandala type diagram, or mind map with other photos, paintings, comics,
quotes, songs…around their photos that represent what they have done,
accomplished, contribute and celebrate in their past and present lives, and one
with a vividly colored photo of each dressed in flashy clothes and hats…and
each with some facial and hand expression such as sticking their tongue out,
flipping the bird, Laughing big with head tilted back, or even one bending over
and flashing their behind.

Walks and then have shots of several different people imitating the silly walk
or making one up themselves and having others follow down the sidewalk, in the
grocery store, in the mall, around MU campus…
23. Attention: A video showing my thought
process, how quickly it changes, how it jumps back and forth in time, how it
rushes in like a tidal wave and quickly rushes back out. How it skips through
channels and pages of images, memories, do to lists. How it has creative ideas
at any given moment yet never at the best time to do anything about them. This
will be a very quick edited video with images, text, spoken word, and the song
from The Sound Of Music, How Do You Solve a Problem Like Maria, in the
background.

respond forcing you to be quick, and not spend too much time thinking about it.

with only one part with a saturated color in each section and then an arrow
from that section pointing to a symbolic representation of what that brain area
controls. Done on a water colored background with pasted on brains and hand
colored with marker.
26. Pay it Forward: This will be a video of several different acts of random
kindness. Such as paying for the person in line behind you in a coffee line. A

dance on the steps of the courthouse.

assume characters that are their alter egos. This will be a short video with
photos, text, video excerpts of each talking, and a music
track underneath.
28. Metaphor: I see a wall, or board with a bunch of representations of
arms with hands open, reaching out. Mannequins painted different colors,
black&white and color photos, abstract carved, plaster, ceramic, wire,
foam, stuffed...all reaching out with lights from below to create shadows on
the other walls.
29. Vision quest/ manifestation: a large Collage of a child planting seeds in

piece that allows audiences to participate. It will be an
installation that shows an interactive video that has the beginning of a story,
song, drawing, and performance to which you can choose which to interact with.

too much time thinking about it.
31. Vulnerability / Fragility: This will be a sculpture made with high-heel
shoes decoupage with the ex-rays of knee and ankle fractures

interactive installation piece on a computer. The name will be
"Down the Rabbit Hole" The screen will have instructions on
choosing one out of 4 things the person is curious about and entering into the
search. This will then turn into an animated type program or game that leads
the person down a rabbit hole and into a landscape where basic information will
be displayed and then other links to songs, poems, stories, art... to follow
that are related to the original.

their initial gut reaction and first emotional response to guide
them.

of iridescent glitter. There will be a small curtain to open to see
what is inside the box. Inside will be an iPod with earphones. The iPod will
play a mix of electronic sounds that are familiar yet strangely indistinguishable. These
sounds will be recordings made from nature and human noises.
36. Humor: a ceramic lamp that is made of a bunch of alien eyes
that have holes in the center of the pupil to let the light shine out.
36. Forgiveness: a photo essay of the way different people practice forgiveness
and the cathartic release of guilt, worry and sorrow. A series of 12 in frames
set in a circle on a table and in the center is a small fire pit with a lit
candle in the middle. At the bottom of each frame is a small tray of scrap
paper and a pen to write your own offering to burn and leave in the pit.
37. Myth: I see two big valentine shaped heart candy boxes, open and side-by-side
on a wall. Inside each candy space is a series of small photos of a

worldly distractions that keep him from his priorities. After he
blows them away, he walks through the woods and all we hear are his footsteps
and his breath as he looks up through the trees to see birds
and squirrels and he smiles. The camera follows him to a playground
were he proceeds to jump on a marry-go-round with three other kids and the
image of them spinning turns into an image that morphs into
several symbolic round images that represent chi, life cycles, mandalas
and then fades to white.

RockemSockem game, a battling tops game, some yoyos, some silly glasses, hats
and mustaches to try on and some play-dough. On the walls will be
photos of other adults playing on these things and silly music such as the Benny
Hill show music will be playing in the background. Instructions on how to use

few key words on how to overcome obstacles in our life and in our own
minds. And all of this will be layered with photo's of symbolic images and
metaphorical actions.
48. Denial: For this I envision another
photo essay this time of a person that is a hoarder. It would be in black and
white and you would only see the back of the person standing in various rooms
in the only empty space left for them to stand amongst all of their
mountains of things. The song by Tracy Chapmin called, Mountains Of Things will
be written out and framed in the middle of the essay with the photos
surrounding it.

holy cards I have from all my loved ones that have died. Beside each card would
be a photo of them and then a photo of what I have left from them, a ring, a
vase, a personal letter. Then beside that a hand written note from me to them
telling them how they have influenced my life.
