Post 1: Series

Post 1: Series

The relationships between a group of art pieces, by one artist, creates a series. Bird speaks of how each piece can be appreciated on its own yet when connected to the others they become a unified whole. It is then that the meaning can be derived or the story can unfold.

I am drawn to this idea and even though I have never intended to do a specific themed series, I can see a common idea or overall connection within many of my own art pieces when they are lined up for viewing. I believe having a solid conceptual foundation will be challenging yet will motivate me to be more intentional when designing my floor plan and more purposeful when building each room.

They are in a band room with instruments all around. She is straddling a tuba and he is dancing with a cello. Last, they are both naked but their entire bodies or painted gold. The second part is them having a daydream or flashback of child hood, or the Buddha meditating and then you see them falling backwards from where they are and cut to them falling in slow motion into a calm lake. The video then goes in reverse and they come up out of the water and fall up into them waltzing with a women dressed like the statue of liberty in a big open field of wild flowers.
