Post 1: Series
The relationships between a group of art pieces, by one
artist, creates a series. Bird speaks of how each piece can be appreciated on
its own yet when connected to the others they become a unified whole. It is
then that the meaning can be derived or the story can unfold.
I am drawn to this idea and even though I have never intended to do a specific themed series, I can see a common idea or overall connection within many of my own art pieces when they are lined up for viewing. I believe having a solid conceptual foundation will be challenging yet will motivate me to be more intentional when designing my floor plan and more purposeful when building each room.
