Expressing Inner States:
The art of the inner
landscape. Bird explains how arts role
of expressing philosophies and collective ideas of the unseen took a radical
shift from giving form to social realities to a personal exploration and
expression of internal questions, desires and visions. Later on Expressionism
became a way for the artist to disassociate with social demands and expected
conformity.
I have several water color
paintings, drawings and a two short videos that are clearly expressionistic and
come from giving form to my emotions. I still would like to explore some
personal themes within the mediums of ceramics and oil paint.
