Post 3: Globalization

Post 3: Globalization

“Art is one means of giving tangible form to the globalization process.” (Bird, 2012, pg. 197)  With the blurring of borders and national identity in favor of multinational exchange; the nation state has become part of history and global interrelations have become the norm. Artists have the whole world to inspire them and many have developed the theme of hybridity.  International art biennales have brought the art of many nations together where both the Rock stars and local artists can express a particular big idea.

As for as this Idea goes, I could do my own art piece based on my personal life. While living in Portland Oregon, one of my friends joked about how I was on the International tour of love. She was referring to the many different international men I had gone on dates and had relationships with. I can see it as a comic performance piece about how I have crossed several borders and explored new nationalities.

And now here is an extra bit of info just for all of you….
